Era Makeup: The Georgian Period (1714-1811)

Here's an elegant, Georgian-inspired makeup look.
Ignore the really crappy quality! I used the camera from my old phone :P

Feeling all historical and stuff :). This look is actually pretty wearable, but it is more of a costume-look.

My 2012 Anime North Experience

So, this convention actually occurred at the end of May. It was my first time going and omg i had SOOO MUCH FUN. It was really cool to see how many people dressed up in costume and I'd like to share some of the pictures I took with all of you.

I went as Rin Tohsaka from the anime series, Fate/Stay Night:
Now, my costume isn't too accurate.. but hey! I tried :)

I know that looks like my real hair, but it's actually a wig since my hair is a lot shorter and I've been growing out my bangs :p. I bought the red sweater from a thrift store, the skirt I've had around for a long time and I got the thigh-high stockings from Claire's.

This is what the costume looks like after I sewed on the cross:

And now, AT THE CONVENTION! :D

Surrounded by some pretty awesome nerd-lovers <3
I was SOOO excited because I found a guy that dressed up as ARCHER! In the series, Rin summons a hero and it happens to be this super tall, epic hero who has the noble phantasm of unlimited bladeworks. I know that makes no sense to any of you, but YEAH that's him! This guy actually did a really good job with the cosplay. See the pics I posted earlier for reference :P. Or google Archer - Fate/Stay Night in images. Lol.

More pictures from the convention. YAY, AWESOME PEOPLE IN COSTUMES!

My favourites from this collage are the Reboot cosplays and the pixel Bowser! :)
This lady brought a WHOLE NEW LEVEL OF EPICNESS to the convention. A GIANT DIGIMON. It was seriously SOO huge. The cool part was that she was actually INSIDE this creature, making it walk with the mechanisms she created. She walked really slow, though... the funniest thing was watching her try and cross the road at a major intersection haha.

Code Geass, Kitana from Mortal Kombat, Silent Hill, Philosoraptors and Commander Sheppard from Mass Effect ;p. Epic win.
My friends and I play League of Legends ALL the time, so these cosplays are full of win and completely relevant to our lives haha. Veigar and Shaco in the left image. Kennen, Garen, Ezreal, Brolaf and Lux in the right image.

The first 3 images in this collage are of characters from the anime Kuroshitsuji (or Black Butler in English). Bottom left is a Victorian vocaloid trio and on the right is Alice and the Queen of Hearts from the video game, Alice: Madness Returns.

YEAHHH STEAMPUNK! I freakin' LOVE the steampunk subculture and I was really excited to see all these people here. They look amazing.

Well, that's all folks! :)

eBay haul TEASER!

I went on a little ebay shopping spree a couple weeks ago. There were SOO many little trinkets that I bought for around $5 that came with free shipping. I think I spent around $30-$35 in total. Pretty affordable for the amount of awesomeness I picked out :p.

One of the items I purchased arrived early. This is the kind of thing I'm talking about:

^ my new FAVOURITE earring of all time! It's a dragon :3. When you wear it, it coils beautifully around the ear. She's my little pet. I think I'm going to name her Elwing :) haha

Anyways, that's all you get to see for now. Once I receive all my purchases, I will make a proper eBay haul-post.

OOTD: Velvet Night-Out

I couldn't wait to break in to my new shoes, so I wore them to the movies!
They're so shiny O.o I love them!
Paired it with some pleather leggings, a button-up top, and a burgundy, velvet jacket/cardigan thingy :p

NEW SHOES :)

I have numerous pairs, but I wanted to share the one's I bought recently :P. I haven't had a chance to wear them out yet but they're SOOOO CUTE.
The heel and platform measure to about 5 1/2 inches! I love it.

The great thing about these platforms is that I can wear them formally, for a night out OR I can wear them any day I want if I feel like adding some fierce-ness to my outfit :). Hehe

OOTD: Summer Gypsy

On a really, REALLY hot day before class.
What I'm Wearing
A flowy skirt that's shorter in the front and longer in the back. The tank top is a unique kind. The straps are two fairly long strings that you can tie any way you want. I had some fun and made it criss-cross in the front and the back. Skirt from Sirens, tank from Urban Planet. I think this outfit cost me $25.
The shoes are a pair of surprisingly comfy, black wedges. $30 from Payless and my jewellery is not too extravagant. Just some gold half-moon earrings and my favourite eagle-claw necklace.

Makeup?!?!?!?!

This is just a wearable makeup look. I actually don't do my makeup like this very often. I prefer dramatic looks. Also, since that picture is obviously photoshopped... this is what everything looks like in natural light :).
Eye: Neutral orangey-brown shades on the lid. Slightly darker browns on the crease. Pencil liner on the waterline - smoked out with a brush.
Mascara: L'Oreal Million Lashes
Lips: orange-tinted plumping lipgloss.

MORE JEWELLERY~!

My ring collection so far. I don't have a lot, mind you. I'm not really much of a ring person.
Brass ring... it's looks like something you'd find in a cave :P

CUTEST LIZARD EVER ^_^

KNUCKLE ARMOUR!
I bought this particular one at FanExpo for $20

It looks pretty cool from the side but it doesn't fit me well, unfortunately :(

This one I got from AnimeNorth:

When I bought it, I just thought it looked awesome... but then someone told me that it was from an anime and I was pretty disappointed. Considering I've never seen the anime before, I felt a little embarrassed about owning it.. but.. MEH WHATEVER. It looks great and I doubt many people would be able to tell unless they've seen the anime hehe. For now, it's my little secret. Shhhhhhh.
I like this picture because it looks like the gem is all firey! Kinda dark, but still... :)

and some more of my necklaces :)
Red necklace and earring set. It's very elegant but I don't wear it too often since it is fragile.

Heavy duty metal rose.
OWL ^.^ it's a locket and I don't know what to put inside :(

THE END :)

My favourite pendants :3

I've been collecting pendants for a while... but only the ones that meet epic standards. These are the ones I wear pretty often:

This one is the claw of an eagle (or vulture, raven, etc..it doesn't really matter lol) holding an orb. I freakin' love it. One of the first I collected when I was in the states about 3 years ago. I don't remember how much I paid for it.

This one is a dragon with a pentagram between its wings. Can't remember how much I spent on it.There used to be a crimson gem between its hands but, I think it came off a while back. I'm going to have to go rhinestone shopping in order to make it all pretty again :p

Two dragons coiled in the shape of a heart around a sword. I got it from Medieval Times! I know it looks heavy, but.. the material is honestly so cheap LOL. I spent like, $10 CDN for it. Oh well, it looks great! :D

This is my all time FAVOURITE piece of jewellery. I misplaced the chain that I bought with it :(. Thank goodness I still have the pendant! There is a tiny crimson rhinestone with moonstone underneath it. I thought the red stone was ruby a while back, but tbh, I have nooo idea. My parents bought it for me in Vancouver, CA when I was 11 years old. It's really special.
